Teeth whitening methods

The most common cause of tooth discolouration is eating coloured food and drinking coffee, tea and wine. Cigarette smoking also contributes to the formation of defects. Such discolourations mar the smile and face and with time penetrate deep into the tooth structure. Home whitening methods are not enough in this case. Discolourations can be removed and the shine of your teeth can be restored with the use of professional equipment in the dentist's office.
Before whitening begins, it is necessary to check the condition of teeth and gums as well as remove any dental deposits and tartar. This way no one will pass indifferently by such a smile.

Office method

Using the Beyond lamp. This is a one-time procedure. It involves applying special whitening gel on the surface of teeth and then activating it by the light of an accelerator. This method makes the teeth white and shiny. The procedure takes about 45 minutes. The effects last for two years.

Home overlay method

During the first visit, an impression is taken to make appropriate overlays. The overlays are handed over to the patient at the next visit. The patient applies the whitening agent himself/herself at home and leaves it on the teeth for about 8 hours, for 7 to 14 days. Hypersensitivity of teeth to cold may develop when using this method of teeth whitening. If such is the case, special gels can be used to alleviate the pain.

The method of whitening is chosen during the first visit to the dentist's office, after a dental consultation.
